The Helm of Awe is an ancient Norse symbol that goes by a few names, the Helm of Awe, Aegishjalmur, Viking Compass. The name Aegishjalmur is derived from the God of the ocean of Jotunheim, Aegir. Jotunheim is the land of the frost giants, one of the nine realms of Norse mythology. The helm of awe is also known as a symbol of protection, courage, and strength.
This Viking helm of awe necklace is made of solid hypoallergenic stainless steel.
The pendant has an engraved helm of awe on the front with a magnetic center to attach either a gold color PVD plated or silver color helm of awe symbol, both a silver color and a gold color removable centers are included with purchase.
The backside of this Norse pendant is also engraved with the helm of awe and surrounded by runes. The entire Viking necklace has a high polish finish with antiquing in the recessed areas to highlight the details.
This Norse pendant (without bail) approximately measures 37mm in diameter x 5mm thick. The bail can accommodate a chain or cord necklace up to 4mm wide.
