The Helm of Awe is an ancient Norse symbol that goes by a few names, the Helm of Awe, Aegishjalmur, and Viking Compass. The name Aegishjalmur is derived from the God of the ocean of Jotunheim, Aegir. Jotunheim is the land of the frost giants, one of the nine realms of Norse mythology. The helm of awe is also known as a symbol of protection, courage, and strength.
